I've been pretty rubbish at keeping this up to date recently, it's been crazy busy with Christmas and new year! I'm taking a few minutes out to reflect on the last few weeks and what I've been up to...
Just after my last post I was lucky enough to have my pattern featured in a special craft section in my local paper. I had a few weeks to come up with a pattern for a Christmassy item and decided on a crocheted christmas tree table decoration. It was perfect for me as it was reusing skills that I have been perfecting when creating my footstools.

I ended up layering crocheted circles with loops around the edge on top of each other to create this pyramid effect and then decorated it with buttons and beads. I went on to sell this one.
As well as this I've been working on another footstool to enter into the One Year On competition at New Designers next year. The closing date is coming around really quickly so I've been spending most of my time working on it. I just hope it's enough, I'm worried that they'll see that I've only done one more thing since I left university and mark me down for it, little do they know how busy I've been!

Over the christmas holidays I took some time out to make something fun for me as I never get a chance to do this anymore! I'd bought myself a Cath Kidston crochet set months ago to teach myself how to make 'granny squares' as beleive it or not I'd never done this before and couldn't get my head around how to do it! So I spent christmas day watching films, eating lots of lovely food and making this cushion cover, I love it!

Final piece! The squares are a bit wonky but I think it's okay for a first attempt!
This led me to play around with jewellery, I've always wanted to branch out into crocheted jewellery but never really mastered it, I'm still practicing but here's what I've come up with so far, let me know what you think!
This looks a lot more neon than it really is, I just used my green and pink hand dyed wool for this one but the bad lighting has made it look brighter, I kind of prefer it, though, I might have to invest in some neon wool!
This one annoyed me a lot! As I was embellishing the beads on they just wouldn't stay where I wanted them too which is why they look so higgledy piggledy! I quite like it, though, it gives it more of a handmade feel!
Let me know if you have any thoughts on what I've done so far, I'm always interested in feedback :)
